
Baga
Beach of Goa is basically an extension of the longer and popular Calangute
beach. The beach is a part of the 30-km stretch of the western beach
coastline of Goa. Located by the side of the Arabian sea, this beach begins
at Fort Aguada and merges into Calangute beach. Away from the hustle and
bustle of Calangute, the calm environs of Baga is appreciated by many. Baga
is some 18 kms away from Goa's capital city of Panaji.
Accommodation and Connectivity
If travelling by air, the nearest airport would be Dabolim at a distance of
29 kms from Calangute. The nearest railhead is the small station of armali.
Many buses operate between Panaji and Calangute some of which go upto Baga
beach. It takes almost 25 minutes to reach Calangute from Panaji. .
A few prominent accommodation nests in Baga are Alidia Beach Cottage, Hotel
Baia Do Sol and Divine Guest House. Accommodation facilities are also
available in Calangute.

is congested, Baga offers the right alternative. There are many palm trees
standing very close to the edge of the water. The scenery of this beach is

foreign tourists camp at Baga and play sports like beach volleyball and
rafting.

fishing beach The Baga beach is very famous for fishing. Lots of tourists
try their luck out at angling hoping to catch a big fish and marinate the

Baga River
The Baga River with its strong currents offers a nice diversion for both

the river and the sea meets.
